SUMMARY
The CNC Machinist is responsible for the set-up and operation of a variety of computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools to produce or repair/refurbish precision parts in conformance with the Company’s requirements for safety, cost, schedule, and quality.

KEY DETAILS
  • Position: CNC Machinist (3rd Shift)
  • Shift Hours: 6:30 PM start, 8 to 12-hour shift (overtime may be required)
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday with occasional weekend OT
  • Pay Rate: Starts at $22.00 per hour, flexible based on experience
  • Location: 2250 Atlanta Hwy., Gainesville, GA 30504
JOB SCOPE/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Set up, operate, and adjust CNC mills and lathes to machine precision parts per specifications.
  • Program CNC machines by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, and compensations.
  • Measure and verify workpieces using tools like micrometers and calipers to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust machine operations to maintain product quality and minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance to keep machines in proper working condition.
  • Monitor feed rates, machine speeds, and equipment performance to ensure efficient operation.
  • Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to optimize machining processes and resolve any technical issues.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining requirements.
  • Dispose of scrap and waste materials according to company and environmental standards.
  • Maintain accurate production logs, document quality issues, and communicate information between shifts.
  • Support ongoing projects, ensuring all tasks are completed in compliance with safety standards.
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety regulations and ensure proper PPE is used during tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operations and project needs.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in CNC Machining
  • Manual machining experience preferred but not required
  • Trade school or vocational training preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with OSHA and Company safety requirements
  • Collaborative, open-minded, and professional communication style and demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with employees across every responsibility level
